Gymnasiums in North Florida: what to know

A school gym is sized from the court outward: the playing area, the safety space around it, then bleachers, a lobby and locker rooms. Clear height over the court matters for volleyball and basketball, so the eave and roof pitch are set early in the design. Large overhead or sliding doors at one end make it easier to move equipment in and to air the room out. Insulation, ventilation and acoustic panels decide how the gym feels on a crowded game night.
