List the teaching rooms first, then the support spaces and campus connections they need. Include the routes students and staff use throughout the day.
Describe the teaching day
List the groups expected to use the new building and the activities each room supports. Include any shared teaching spaces, staff preparation and storage. Identify which rooms must operate at the same time and which may be shared.
Ask educators to describe the materials and equipment they move during a normal day. A classroom plan should account for those routines instead of treating all teaching rooms as identical empty boxes.
Connect the building to campus
Sketch arrival, class changes and movement to shared facilities. Mark existing buildings, outdoor learning areas and service access. Include how deliveries and maintenance reach the new space without assuming they follow student routes.
Provide the project team with available campus drawings and known constraints. Have the appropriate professionals establish access, safety and operational requirements for the intended school use.
Separate immediate and future needs
Create one room list for opening day and another for anticipated growth. Explain whether future demand would add more of the same rooms or introduce different functions. That distinction helps the team discuss an expansion concept with a defined purpose.
Ask the contractor to identify the shell, interiors, equipment and campus work included in the proposal. If existing buildings must remain in use, describe the school calendar and the activities that construction planning needs to consider.
